Obituary For Wayne S. Carney

Wayne S. Carney
March 22, 1959 – June 23, 2023

Wayne S. Carney, 64, Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday morning after a brief illness. He was born in Fort Gordon, Ga., son of the late Herbert and Violet (Jones) Carney.
On Aug. 13, 1983, he married Nancy A. Campbell.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Clinton Carney; two daughters, Shari James (Morgan II) and Julie Carney; two grandchildren, Morgan James III and Paisley James; a brother, Mark (Audrey); his mother and father-in law, David and Katharine Campbell; and a brother-in-law, Gary Campbell (Cindi).
He was preceded in death by his faithful dog, CJ.
Wayne was a 1977 graduate of Hollidaysburg Senior High School.
He was employed at Blair Street Service Center for 37 years, where he retired as the owner/operator.
Wayne was always working on a project. He enjoyed fishing, Pittsburgh Steelers football, and spending time with his family.
Wayne will always be remembered for his kind heart and unique sense of humor.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in memory of Wayne, be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, PA 16602; or perform a random act of kindness, as he would.
