Obituary For Susan M. Waibel

Susan M. Waibel
Dec. 23, 1946 – Sept. 6, 2025

Susan M. Waibel,78, Hollidaysburg, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at home.
She was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Winifred (Tracey) Mosard.
Susan was the beloved wife of John T. Waibel, who she married, July 25, 1970; devoted mother of Caroline Chebli (Joseph) of Venice, FL, Mary Duncan (Scott) of Bloomsburg, Nancy Waibel of Duncansville, and Robert Waibel (Angie) of Duncansville; proud Nana of ten grandchildren; and sister of Nancy Manetta of Irvine, CA.
She was a graduate of Adelphi University in Long Island, N.Y.
Susan was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, volunteer for the Altoona Symphony Orchestra, Allegheny Museum of Art, and Saint Vincent de Paul Society Soup Kitchen; and patron of countless religious charities, foundations serving veterans, and animal rescue organizations.
She enjoyed reading, beach combing, and swimming.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing.
A funeral Mass will be announced at a later date.
Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery.
The family requests that donations in memory of Susan, be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105.
Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt, and Stevens Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.

    We send our deepest sympathies to the entire Waibel family. Susan was our neighbor, on Walnut Street, for many years. We would often see she and John, working in the yard, or walking dogs. It was great to stop and chat, and have a good laugh. She will be missed. THE HUFF FAMILY
