Obituary For S. Grace Diehl

S. Grace Diehl May 10, 1922 – April 1, 2023

S. Grace Diehl, 100, Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday morning at The Village at Morrisons Cove. She was born in Charlesville, Colerain Township, Bedford County, daughter of the late George R. and Pearl K. (Koontz) Diehl. Grace is survived by a sister, Kathleen D. Piper. She was preceded in death by a brother, Christopher D. Diehl; and a sister, Hazel D. Walker. Grace was a 1940 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She graduated from the Altoona School of Commerce and had attended the Altoona Campus of Penn State University. She retired as a bookkeeper from Neff Electric in 1991 after 27 years of service. Grace was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church in Hollidaysburg, Order of the Eastern Star, Hollidaysburg, Chapter #471, and the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America Inc., Altoona. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at noon Monday, April 10, 2023, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, with Pastor Norman Saylor officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park. The family requests that donations in memory of Grace be made to the Brian Morden Foundation, 3002 2nd Ave., Altoona, PA 16602; or St. John’s Reformed Church, 906 Maple Ave., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
