Obituary For Patricia Ann Gornick

Patricia Ann Gornick Sept. 22, 1957 – Jan. 2, 2022

Patricia Ann Gornick, 64, of Hillsborough, New Jersey, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Sunday afternoon at RWJ University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, NJ. She was born in Jersey Shore, PA, daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel (Batley) Vairo. She married Anthony Charles Gornick on Aug. 15, 1985 in Altoona. He preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1998. She is survived by three children: Katherine “Katie” and Kyle, both of New Jersey, and Kara, of Los Angeles, CA. Patricia was a graduate of Jersey Shore High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University in Rehabilitation Counseling. Patricia had been a social worker with Children & Youth Services and a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and Unit Manager at CSI Cresson and Rockview. She was an active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg and President of the Hollidaysburg Women’s Club. Patricia was a diehard Red Sox fan and loved to travel and spend time with her family and pets. Friends will be received from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, Father Alan Thomas, Celebrant.     Approximately 2003, I worked in clerical with Pat at Blair Co Children & Youth Services. She was a thoughtful, caring, expressive caseworker who spoke often of her children and their endeavors. I am so sorry to read of her passing and extend deepest sympathy to her family and friends.
