Obituary For Nancy Carolyn Corbin

July 26, 1945 – Feb. 22, 2025

Nancy Carolyn Corbin, 79, of Hollidaysburg passed away Saturday evening at the Lutheran Home in Hollidaysburg. She was born July 26, 1945, the oldest daughter of Kenneth and Marjorie (Blake) Wise of Hollidaysburg. She married Frederick B. Corbin of Altoona on Oct. 15, 1971.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years; two children: Gregory Corbin (Julie) of Riverview, Fla. and Laurie McMullen (Michael) of Martinsburg; 5 grandchildren: Alexandra L. Morse of Hollidaysburg, Aaron M. Morse of Ypsilanti, Mich., Madelynne N. Corbin of Riverview, Fla., and Andrew M. and Matthew M. McMullen of Altoona; four siblings: Roger Wise (Sherry) of Duncansville, Patty Lynch of Sugar Land, Tex., David Wise (Vickie) of Cresson, and Barbara Hammel of Duncansville.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Gary L. Wise, who died in 1956.
Nancy graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1963 and the Altoona Hospital Nursing School in 1966.
Nancy worked as an LPN at Altoona Hospital from 1966 to 1971 before turning her attention to building a family. She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Hollidaysburg, where she participated in the choir, handbell choir and taught children’s Sunday school for many years.
She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, boating at Lake Raystown and being with her family and cats. She was an avid sports fan, rarely missing a Pittsburgh Pirates or Penn State Football game.
Friends will be received from 10-noon, Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at First United Methodist Church of Hollidaysburg, 801 Allegheny Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 where a funeral service will immediately follow at noon with Pastor Joleen Willis officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.

    As the family grieves the loss of a loved one, we remember the positive influence Nancy bestowed on those who knew her. It was a privilege to work with Nancy in our church community. Although no longer physically present, Nancy's spirit continues to touch us. Bob and Linda Bryant
