Larry Eugene Wertz
March 15, 1952 – August 20, 2024

Larry Eugene Wertz ,72, of Hollidaysburg, returned home on Tuesday afternoon at his residence after a brief illness.
Larry was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and is the son of the late Earl Eugene and Leah (Ellenberger) Wertz.
On May 5, 1973, Larry married Linda L. Chamberlain in Hollidaysburg. Linda preceded Larry in death on June 10, 2012.
Larry is survived by a daughter, Lisa Ann Sommers (Kevin), and a son, Landon (Amisha) both of Hollidaysburg; four grandchildren: Alex and Noah Sommers and Lane and Lawson Wertz; two brothers, Edward (Patti) and Robert; three sisters: Rhonda (Ron), Barb (Philip), and Lisa (David); companion Linda Hodge, his beloved Aunt Shirk; many nieces and nephews, and special friends, Katie and Nick.
Larry was a 1971 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. Larry retired from general maintenance at Wal-Mart and, most recently, was a school bus driver for Fullington Trailways. Larry was a life member of the VFW, elected Guard at the VFW Auxiliary Post 8724, Road Captain of the American Legion Riders Post 516, a member of A.B.A.T.E. of Pennsylvania, and a member of the Hollidaysburg Allegheny Club.
At Larry’s request, there will be no visitation or services. Donations may be made in memory of Larry to the Duncansville VFW Post 8724’s Food Share.
Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 N. Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.

    I Have Not Seen Larry In Quite A While , I Knew Him Briefly From Working A With Him A Few Times ., I Remember He Came Out And Rescued Me One Tim When My Bus Broke Down .He Always Seemed Like The Nicest , Most Easygoing Guy .I Am Terribly Sad To See This .My Heart Goes Out To Larry , His Friends And Family .God Bless !
