Kenneth L. Stevenson Sept. 1, 1932 – Sept. 13, 2021
Kenneth L. Stevenson, 89, Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday evening. He was born in Altoona, son of the late John and Marguerite (MacFalls) Stevenson. On November 15, 1957, he married Nancy Naus in Hollidaysburg. He is survived by his wife; sister-in-law, Betty Stevenson of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews: Jeff Stevenson, Kathy Casavant, Sherry Stevenson, Becky Snyder, and Karin Sinisi; great-niece, Katie Avery; and great-nephews: Nathan Snyder and Attorney Casey Snyder. He was preceded in death by brothers: John (Jack), Terry, and Samuel. Kenneth was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School and graduated from Penn State Altoona in 1958. He retired in 1968 as a Draftsman for Bell Telephone Labs in Burlington, NC. Kenneth was a U.S. Navy Veteran from Jan. 13, 1953 until Dec. 16, 1954, serving on the USS Sablefish (SS 303). He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg, Juniata Lodge, F&AM, Valley of Altoona Scottish Rite, U.S. Navy Submarine Service, and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will follow at 12:30 p.m. by Pastor John A. Godissart. Interment will be at Alto Reste Park with full military honors provided by the U.S. Navy and the Blair County Honor Guard. The family requests that donations in memory of Kenneth be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery Street, Hollidaysburg.
