Obituary For Kathleen "Kathy" Schmittle

Kathleen “Kathy” Schmittle
July 13, 1956 – January 23, 2026

Kathleen “Kathy” Schmittle, 69, Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday morning at her residence after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Thomas R. and Matilda A. (Weidmann) Taylor.
Kathy was twice married: first to Robert Glunt and then to Robert R. Schmittle; both of whom preceded her in death.
She is survived by a son, Bradford of Harrisburg; a brother, Tom Taylor (Elaine) of Altoona; and four sisters: Jean Schandelmeier of Altoona, Debbie Schroth (Dave) of Altoona, Janet Degenhardt of Lancaster, and Patricia Haselbarth (Fred) of Kathleen, GA.
Kathy was a 1974 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School.
She retired as the Troop Administrative Manager for the Pennsylvania State Police.
Kathy was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. She enjoyed word puzzles, dolls, and rocking in her rocking chair.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2026, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, with Father Alan Thomas officiating.
Committal will be at Alto Reste Park.
Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 N. Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
The family requests that donations in memory of Kathy, be made to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 198, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, or St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 301 Spruce St, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
