Obituary For Joseph C. Irvin

Joseph C. Irvin June 12, 1936 - January 14, 2021

Joseph C. Irvin, 84, of Hollidaysburg, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late John C. and Frances (Posten) Irvin. In January 1959, he married Linda R. Trindel at St. Michael's Church in Hollidaysburg. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2011, after 52 years of marriage. In 2015 he married Patricia Kress, who survives. He is survived by two children and nine grandchildren: his son Doug Irvin and wife, Wendy and their four children: Jenna, Sarah, Brock, and Alayna; his daughter, Brenda Kosko-Blyler and husband, Barry and their four children: Matthew, Marissa (Noah), Mark, and Mitchell; and grandson, Eric Johnson. He is also survived by a brother, Patrick Irvin (Norma) of The Villages, FL. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Johnson; a grandson, Joseph Johnson; four brothers; and six sisters. Joe graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School, where he played football. He was in the construction business, the kitchen and bath business, as well as the cabinet manufacturing business most of his life. After retirement, he enjoyed spending the winters in Florida, at The Villages. Joe was active in the Hollidaysburg Rotary Club and the Blair County Builders Association, and enjoyed playing golf, flying, horseback riding, and fishing. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory can be made to The Greg and Cathy Griffith Family Foundation Sideline Cancer, P.O. Box 28, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.     While we didn't know Joe that well, the time we spent with him was most enjoyable. He made us feel very welcome and fit in well with the Wisconsin crowd. He obviously was very fond of you Pat and it was apparent you had fun together. Love, Terry and Barb Kelly

    Joe was a great man and wonderful neighbor. He was always fun to be around. He will be greatly missed by his friends on Chula Vista was in The Villages.
