Joan L. Long 84, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away unexpectedly Sunday morning, December 21 at UPMC, Altoona. She was born October 16, 1941 in Hollidaysburg a daughter of the late Orville and Mary M. Berkheimer and on February 7, 1959 in Cumberland MD, she married Charles D. Long who passed away May 19, 1994.
She is survived by a son, Charles D. Long, Jr. (Julie) of Belsano, PA and a daughter, Sandra Grove of Altoona, and her longtime boyfriend, Albert Mealing of Altoona, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughters Diane Miller and Brenda Brooks and a granddaughter, Michelle.
She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a big fan of Elvis, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Gunsmoke and Wagon Train. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Saturday , December 27, 2025 from 11 until the funeral service at 1:00 pm at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St. Hollidaysburg, PA (stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com) with Pastor Mary Emery officiating. Interment will be in Holsinger Cemetery, Baker’s Summit.
