Herbert A. Starbird Sept. 1, 1951 – Jan. 25, 2021

Herbert Starbird, 69, Altoona, passed away Monday evening at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Melbourne, FL., son of the late Herbert A. and Margaret June (Welch) Starbird. He is survived by Becky Starbird of Altoona; a son, Steven Youmans of Apollo Beach, FL; four daughters: Jessica Starbird of Valrico, FL, Justine Clancy of Hollidaysburg, and Sydney Starbird and Jordan Starbird, both of Altoona; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Robert Starbird of Washington D.C. and Andrew Starbird of Austin, TX. Herbert was a graduate of Howell High School, New Jersey. He retired from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD as a health physicist in the Radiation Safety Branch. Herbert loved his cats and enjoyed volunteering at the Central PA Humane Society. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
