Obituary For Helen Virginia Campbell

Helen Virginia Campbell Jan. 2, 1931 – Sept. 10, 2020

Helen Virginia Campbell, 89, formerly of Hollidaysburg, passed away Thursday morning at the Altoona Center for Nursing Care. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Charles M. and Catherine S. (Turek) Gray. On December 8, 1949 in Winchester, VA, she married George Alvin Campbell who preceded her in death August 3, 1994. She is survived by two daughters, Terry H. Davis of Hollidaysburg and Deborah L. Stoner of El Paso, TX; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brother, Charles (Peg) of Altoona; two sisters: Gloria Eckard of East Freedom and Mary Lou Matthews of Hollidaysburg; and sister-in-law, Gloria of Carson Valley. She was preceded in death by a son, George Thomas “Tom” in 1982 and a brother, Regis E. in 2019 Helen was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a member of the Roaring Spring Mennonite Church and TOPS. Helen enjoyed gambling, crocheting, bingo, roller skating, and traveling to Atlantic City. Friends will be received from 4 p.m. until the 5 p.m. memorial service on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg by Pastor Elsie Gonsman.
