Gloria Levina (Reed) Mallon Aug. 30, 1923 – Aug. 19, 2020

Gloria Levina (Reed) Mallon, 96, Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg. She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Dorsey and Bessie (Kennedy) Reed. On January 29, 1947 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, she married John J. Mallon, who preceded her in death in 1993. Gloria is survived by cousins, Georgia (Collison) Hewitt and Polly Hewitt of Seminole, Fla. She is also survived by close friends since childhood, Alma and Theda Arford, and personal representative, Susan Arford, all of Hastings. She was predeceased by an infant brother, Nathan; and sisters: Hilda and Sylva Reed, and Margaret Meckley. Gloria graduated from Hollidaysburg Area High School in 1942 and was then employed by Sylvania at Mill Hall during WWII. Her remaining years were spent as a housewife. She and her husband, John Mallon lived in Gary, Ind. until they retired to Roaring Spring in the 80’s. Gloria was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Hollidaysburg. Family and friends would like to thank the staff of the Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg for the wonderful care Gloria was given over the past ten years. There will be no visitation. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, Father Alan Thomas, celebrant. Committal will be at Calvary Cemetery.
