George E. Wineland
April 4, 1938-August 1, 2026
George E. Wineland, 88, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Saturday at Celebration Villa, Duncansville. He was born in Duncansville, the son of the late Frank and Orveda (Resig) Wineland.
George married Doris McNally on March 31, 1968, she preceded him in death on June 3, 2001.
Surviving George are his four loving children: Chuck Wineland (Debbie) of Milton, Delaware, Shelby Helgert (Ray) of Sciota, Brenda Hughes (Luther) of Williamsburg and Lisa Suckling (Mike) of Hollidaysburg; also, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and later retired from Smooth-On, Inc.
George had been a member of the Allegheny Club.
He enjoyed taking care of his trucks and going to flea markets.
Friends will be received from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Plank, Stitt and Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648, where military honors will be presented at 7 pm.
Interment will be held at Carson Valley Cemetery.

Shelby and family, sad to hear the passing of your father. George was a great co- worker and friend to my family. He was always there when in need. Very grateful for knowing George during his time here on earth. Many memories we shared together. Sincerely Danny Bove and family. .
