Obituary For Evelyn M. "Jo" (Walls) Kochseder

Jo, 85, passed away Sunday at The Village at Morrison’s Cove after a brief illness. She was born in Hollidaysburg at her Grandparents home in Lower Reese, the daughter of Harry E. and Thelma M. (Kensinger) Walls. Jo, along with her three sisters, Bernice Rabold (deceased), Dorothy Foster and Regina Walls grew up in a small log home in East Loop. Her parents found 'Evelyn' to be quite the little tomboy growing up. One of her memories of her school years was adopting the nickname "Jo Priff from the Loop" by the other children, and the name "Jo" stayed with her.

Her goal to complete her high school education made it necessary for her to take her first job and she proudly graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1952. She started dating George A. Kochseder (deceased) when she was 15. Living deep in the woods at the base of Locke Mt when she and George first got together, he would refer to her as one of the dolls from the Valley Of The Dolls. They were married on August 8, 1953 and shared 61 wonderful years together. Jo and George had five children Stephen, wife Catherine; Debra, husband Frank Lane; Jeffrey (deceased); Patty, husband Denny Barroner; and Alan. The family has grown to 8 grandchildren and their spouses along with 14 great-grandchildren.

Through the years Jo and George enjoyed throwing the best parties and picnics. Her love of the outdoors filled her life with camping, canoeing, skeet shooting, drawing, sewing, flowers and many long walks. Jo was an avid hunter sharing her love with her family, children and grandchildren. Jo was very active in the Wild Turkey Federation and also taught hunters safety courses to youth. Hunting stories filled many conversations in the beautiful log home she and George built together. She always enjoyed family time, especially Christmas, decorating, shopping for the perfect gift for each grandchild and having all her family around on Christmas Day. Many hours were spent watching wildlife from her porch, especially in the later years with her son Alan. Jo found much joy in her love of shopping, people watching, country music, pizza and those special sweet treats. She loved to travel to visit family and friends.

In Celebration of her life we invite you to share a memory of your time with her, reflect in private on how she touched your life about an experience you will never forget. She loved many and was loved by many.

Due to the current state of affairs a private service will be held for the immediate family only.

One of our Mother's last requests was that we please continue to care for her sister Regina who she loved with all her heart.

In lieu of flowers we request that any donations be made to Regina Walls c/o Debra for Jeannie's personal care and needs.

Cards and donations may be sent to Debra Lane, 3641 Royer Road, Williamsburg PA 16693
