Esther Romaine Closson
June 26, 1931 – September 25, 2024

Esther Romaine Closson, 93, Roaring Spring, formerly of Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday afternoon at her residence.
She was born in Spring Grove, daughter of the late Solomon and Lillie (Copenhaver) Jamison.
She married Percy Harrison Closson on Feb. 14, 1954, in Altoona. He preceded her in death on March 13, 2011.
She is survived by four daughters: Donna Closson of Hollidaysburg, Dana Rosser of Roaring Spring, Danette Locke (Jeffrey) of Huntingdon and Dawn Walk (James) of Altoona; a son, Eric Closson of Martinsburg; 11 grandchildren: Jaime Rosser, Shearl Hite, August Robertson, Danielle Locke, Amber Bowser, Javannah Walk, Brittany Sprow, Tamara Cox, Anthony Closson, Natalie Morris, and Paul Closson; and many great-grandchildren.
Esther will also be missed by her friends at Graystone Court.
She was preceded in death by her son, Darrell; two granddaughters, Stephanie Locke and Gail Leidy; and two sisters, Ann Hempfing and Helen McNair.
Esther retired in 1993 as a Nurses Aide at the Huntingdon County Nursing Home after 18 years of service.
She was of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed walking, sewing, biking, reading, watching meteor showers, and sled riding.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tim Bartholomew, officiating.
Interment will be held at Carson Valley Cemetery.
