Doris Jean Hainsey May 12, 1930 - Dec. 15, 2020

Doris Jean Hainsey, 90, Hollidaysburg, passed away Tuesday evening at her residence. She was born in Brooks Mill, daughter of the late Thomas and Marie (Wertman) Snyder. On Oct. 8, 1949 she married Robert W. Hainsey in Geeseytown. He preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1997. She is survived by two children: Robert T. and Sue, both of Hollidaysburg; and two grandsons: Jason and Jeremy. Doris was the last of her family. She was preceded in death by two sons who died at birth: John David and Barry William. Doris was a nurse’s aide at the Altoona Hospital and The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg. She was a foster grandmother for 19 years at the Hollidaysburg YMCA Frankstown School and was known as “Grandma Jean” to all of her foster grandchildren. She attended Geeseytown Lutheran church. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at a later date, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Arrangements are by Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg.
