Obituary For Carol A. Boland

Carol A. Boland, 86, of Hollidaysburg, has passed away after battling cancer.
She was born in Gaysport, daughter of the late John E. and Ann (Ferguson) McCoy. On June 14, 1958, she married Joseph R. Boland at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg. He preceded her in death January 5, 2010.
Surviving are three children: Michael J. (Shelley), Timothy P. (Lauren), and Michele R. Baker (Ray), all of Hollidaysburg; six grandchildren: Jessica (Douglas), Daniele (Jason), Johanna (Nathan), Joseph, Breckin, and Breya; three great-grandchildren: Emma, Maxwell, and Eugene; and a great-grandchild on the way. Carol is also survived by Bob and Louise Irwin, devoted life-long friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jayne Tome and Mary Madalyn Helsel; and a brother, Elwood McCoy.
Carol was a 1955 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was employed at Warner’s Florist for many years, taking orders and many other responsibilities.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, where she counted contributions for many years. She was also a member of the Hollidaysburg Catholic Booster Club.
Carol enjoyed card club every Friday at her house and watching her grandchildren and their activities.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a vigil for the deceased will be held Wednesday evening.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg with Father Alan Thomas officiating.
Committal will be at Alto Reste Park.
