Betty Jane Smith
September 12, 1941 - July 22, 2024

Betty Jane Smith, 82, Hollidaysburg, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on the morning of July 22, 2024.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late George W. and Alice Jean (Reese) Holland. On June 30, 1963, she married Leroy Smith, her best friend and husband of 54 years who preceded her in death on September 2, 2017.
She is survived by her daughter Jennie L. Corl (Don) of Hollidaysburg; son Troy (Milinda) of Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, George Holland of Houston, TX; and a sister, Judy McChesney of Martha's Vineyard, MA.
She was preceded in death by her brother John.
Betty was a 1959 graduate of Altoona High School. She retired as a nursing assistant with the Altoona Regional Health System in 2006, after over 20 years of service.
Betty was enduringly passionate about spreading Christ’s love in all she did. In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Betty loved her church family, Bible study friends, and caring neighbors, as well as mowing grass, clearing land, and baking Christmas cookies for everyone.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until noon, Monday July 29, 2024, at Grace Family Bible Church (Duncansville) where a funeral service will immediately follow at noon with Pastor James Zaebst officiating.
Interment will be at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Tyrone (Sinking Valley).
