Obituary For Amelia "Millie" K. Blyler

Amelia K. “Millie” Blyler

March 9, 1943-August 12, 2024

Amelia K. “Millie” Blyler, 81, Hollidaysburg, peacefully passed away early Monday morning at UPMC Altoona after a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruth (Weaver) Beigle. Amelia married Richard E. Blyler on January 25, 1964 in Winchester, Virginia. He preceded her in death on July 27, 2009.

Surviving are her two daughters: Trudy Hazenstab of New Castle and Tanya Jones (Brian) of Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren: Molly, Megan, Tyler, Justin and Joshua; four great-grandchildren: Auriauna, Tessa, Aurora and Rylan; also surviving is her sister, Catherine Espigh of Duncansville.

She is preceded in death by son-in-law, Timothy Hazenstab on June 30, 2021.

Millie was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School and went on to become a childcare provider and building a home for her family.

She enjoyed crocheting, paint by numbers on her iPad and especially spending time with her family.

Friends will be received from noon-2 pm on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 with a funeral service immediately following at 2 pm with Rev. Dennis Braun. Interment will be held at Royer Cemetery.

The family suggests that contributions be made in Millie’s memory to: Mending Hearts Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 97, Hollidaysburg, Pa. 16648.
