Alma Adair Leidel
June 30, 1921 – May 27, 2025

Alma Adair Leidel of Arlington, Texas passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the age of 103. She was born on June 30, 1921 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where she grew up with her mother, father and two brothers.
Alma graduated from South Philadelphia High School and went on to work in the offices of Strawbridge & Clothier. Alma would meet the love of her life, Herman Leidel, while he was teaching aircraft mechanics to the Army Air Corps during World War II. They would go on to be married in April of 1944, during this time Herman was a flight test engineer at the Budd company in Philadelphia where Alma would sit in the parking lot and watch.
On her 88th birthday when asked where she would like to eat she answered, "I'll let you choose." David took this opportunity to surprise her with a dinner at a restaurant she had never been to before. Hooters. After being sat down the kindly waitress asked her if she would like an iced tea. Alma would answer her, "I want a Bourbon Manhattan on the rocks, and when I'm done with that one, I'll have another." It did not take long for the waitresses to flock to her, and David has the picture to prove it.
Alma was actively involved in the Trinity Methodist Church. An active gardener, avid reader and baked the best Christmas cookies you will ever have.
She is preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Herman Leidel.
Alma is survived by her son, David Leidel.
The family would like to thank her nurses, technicians, and doctors at Arlington Memorial Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Alma in her final days.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park.
